🚨 Official: Tottenham release statement confirming Thomas Frank has been sacked
Spurs have broken their silence following the speculation...
Tottenham have now officially confirmed that Thomas Frank has been sacked as the club’s manager after reports doing the rounds this morning.
Frank looked in serious danger after last night’s 2-1 defeat home to Newcastle, with the result leaving Spurs just five points above the relegation zone.
This led to the likes of the BBC and the Athletic claiming this morning that Frank had been given his marching orders, and there’s now a club statement to accompany that.
Tottenham’s official statement on Thomas Frank sacking
“The Club has taken the decision to make a change in the Men’s Head Coach position and Thomas Frank will leave today.
“Thomas was appointed in June 2025, and we have been determined to give him the time and support needed to build for the future together.
“However, results and performances have led the Board to conclude that a change at this point in the season is necessary.
“Throughout his time at the Club, Thomas has conducted himself with unwavering commitment, giving everything in his efforts to move the Club forward. We would like to thank him for his contribution and wish him every success in the future.”
Tottenham needed to make a change
It’s clear Tottenham had to act fast as their season could genuinely be heading for disaster.
A big club like Spurs can’t be so close to the relegation zone, and Frank just didn’t look capable of moving the team away from danger.
It remains to be seen who will be coming in now, but with FA Cup action this weekend, Spurs have a break to prepare for a new appointment in time for the Arsenal game.
Frank will be disappointed to have performed so poorly at Tottenham after previously impressing at Brentford, but at this point he can’t have been too surprised.
