🚨 Tottenham want to sign "real top player" who troubled them this season
Tottenham to move for Ligue 1 star?
Tottenham Hotspur are keeping tabs on the Monaco attacker Maghnes Akliouche.
It will be interesting to see if they decide to make a move for the 23-year-old French attacker in the coming months. They have been following him extensively, and the young winger has impressed with the French outfit.
It is no secret that Tottenham need more quality and depth in the final third. Having someone who can take on defenders and beat them in one versus one situations would add some much needed unpredictability to the Tottenham attack. Furthermore, he will add goals to the side as well.
Tottenham signed Xavi Simons in the summer, but the Netherlands International has not been able to hit top form yet. Tottenham need more quality in the final third.
Akliouche troubled Spurs earlier this season
Pete O’Rourke revealed on Football Insider: “I’m sure he’s on that radar for Tottenham, he was on the radar in the summer, so they will continue to keep tabs on him.
“I was surprised that no top club made a move for Akliouche in the summer window. He’s a real top player who had a very good season for Monaco last year, and he’s started this season in good form as well.
“He also impressed against Spurs in that Champions League meeting between the two sides this season as well so it just showed what he can do against top opposition.”
Can Tottenham sign Maghnes Akliouche?
It will be interesting to see if Spurs follow up on their interest with an official proposal to get the deal done in January. Monaco are likely to demand a premium if Spurs come calling.
Akliouche is a prodigious young talent with a bright future, and he could develop into a key player for Tottenham with the right guidance. Regular football in England could bring out the best in him and accelerate his development.
Tottenham have an ambitious project, and the player is likely to be tempted to join them.
