🚨 TRUTH about Lionel Messi situation revealed as Fabrizio Romano lays out details of player's plans until February
What's really going on with Lionel Messi?
Fabrizio Romano has provided an update on Lionel Messi’s situation, speaking on his YouTube channel about the player’s plans for the next few months.
Despite so much talk of Messi possibly looking for a move back to a European club on loan for the months ahead, it seems that is currently not the plan at all.
While some have speculated that a lack of MLS football could tempt Messi to seek a temporary move, perhaps even back to his former club Barcelona on loan, it seems that’s not currently on the cards, with the Argentine likely to be a key figure for his club as they go on tour to play some friendly games in Asia later this year.
There will then also be international fixtures to keep Messi busy, so unless something drastic happens to change the situation soon, it looks like this current speculation is just hot air.
“Many fans have been asking me what’s happening with Lionel Messi,” Romano said. “We know that Inter Miami are now out of the playoffs in MLS and so this is a problem because many football fans are mentioning that we will not see Messi play football until February.
“But the reality is a bit different - the first point to clarify is that, despite rumours about a loan to Barcelona, and also the possibility about Saudi clubs, the reality is completely different. Messi, his father, and his camp, are not discussing with any club about a loan deal.
“Messi’s focus is on Argentina and on Inter Miami, nothing else at the moment, this is the reality of the situation. Messi will play some important games with Argentina in the next few days … then he will be back with Inter Miami to play two final games at the end of October. These will be his two final games of 2023 with his club, but in November Messi will be back with Argentina, there will be one more international break. There are plenty of games to come for Messi.
“After that, from what I understand, there is the possibility being discussed for friendly games with Inter Miami. They are planning for an Asian tour to play some friendly games there, with Messi involved, not just for the games but for the marketing and commercial side of the story.
“In December, after these friendly games, Messi will return for some vacation. Then for the first week of January Messi will be back for the first week of pre-season for Inter Miami, which will be crucial for him to improve the situation of the squad and connect with the new players in the squad.
“Then in February, the new MLS season will start - that’s the situation, that’s the plan, there is no discussion with Barcelona or any other clubs. Messi is not considering anything else, he’s just focused on Argentina and Inter Miami. If that changes, I’ll let you know.”
