It was a bit of a quiet summer for Liverpool in the end, but there was also plenty to be positive about. Read on for our overview of the Reds’ window, plus the views of our columnist Fabrizio Romano…

Players in

Federico Chiesa - Signed on the cheap from Juventus, Federico Chiesa may be a little injury prone, but we all know that he’s a quality player on his day, and someone who could make a terrific impact for a top Premier League club if he’s able to find his best fitness and form. Overall, Liverpool fans will be excited by this late deal, which provides Arne Slot with even more depth and quality in his attack.

Giorgi Mamardashvili - The Valencia goalkeeper is not joining Liverpool just yet, but a deal is already in place for him to move to Anfield in summer 2025, so the Reds have surely done well here to make their move before other top clubs inevitably tried to snap up this top talent in the near future. It’s surely not time to replace Alisson as number one yet, but when that time does come, Mamardashvili looks ideal for the job.

Players out

Fabio Carvalho - In the end, Fabio Carvalho’s time at Liverpool ended up being a real disappointment. Despite arriving with the reputation of being an elite wonderkid, Carvalho never lived up to his potential and struggled for playing time, and he’s now been sold to Brentford on a permanent basis, where he’ll hope to revive his career.

Sepp van den Berg - Sold for a healthy profit after joining at a young age but then barely playing, this has to go down as a decent sale for Liverpool, even if it leaves them a little short of depth in defence.
