West Ham offer €30m plus 20% sell-on clause for 18-year-old winger
Brazilian could become the first signing under new boss Julen Lopetegui.
West Ham are closing in on the signing of Brazilian winger Luis Guilherme from Palmeiras.
It’s set to be a busy summer at the London Stadium with new manager Julen Lopetegui already in place, and the Hammers are likely to do business in the transfer window.
Fabrizio Romano has reported that West Ham are now closing in on their first summer singing, Brazilian talent Guilherme.
Romano took to X.com and said:
“West Ham are closing in on deal to sign Brazilian talent Luis Guilherme from Palmeiras!
“Exclusive details of the official bid submitted: €30m fixed fee plus 20% sell-on clause.
“Negotiations at the final stages, here we go expected soon.”
Guilherme operates mainly off the right side, but can also play on the left and as an attacking midfielder.
The 18-year-old is another Palmeiras talent and has played alongside Endrick, who has joined Real Madrid, and Chelsea-bound Estevao Willian.
The winger is a Brazil under-20 international and has been identified as a target by West Ham’s technical director Tim Steidten.
The Hammers endured a disappointing campaign last season, finishing ninth and missing out on European football, and with David Moyes departing it feels like a new era is dawning in east London.
Guilherme would further bolster the club’s attacking ranks, with Jarrod Bowen and Mohamed Kudus already on the books.
West Ham could lose one of their star men in Lucas Paqueta this summer, although his departure is in doubt after the Brazilian was charged with four counts of spot fixing by the FA.
The Hammers are likely to be in the market for a striker as they look for competition for Michail Antonio, and have been linked with a move for Youssef En-Nesyri and Serhou Guirassy.
Lopetegui will be tasked with trying to guide the Hammers back into European competition, and play a more exciting brand of football than his predecessor.
