Blue cards can 'only' be negative for football. More cards = more controversy = more unhappiness within the game, the issues are... For ten mins you'll have one team playing negative football as they defend the power play (this often makes ice hockey & rugby very one sided and boring when players are sin binned), football is best 11v11... Everybody wants to watch football being played 11v11... Also what happens when a goalkeeper gets blue carded?? Do we have to sub them? Do we play without keepers? Has this 'trial' even been thought through properly?? I don't like it, IFAB's idea to confuse a simple game into chaotic crappiness is really underwhelming for the future of football!
