Lampard at Chelsea would be interesting... largely responsible for bringing through a host of top-quality youth stars during his time at Stamford Bridge. But this is Chelsea ultimately going for (or hoping, at the very least) the home stretch appointment effect.

Lampard's the obvious choice to fill the gap and buy us time to make the right long-term decision (that includes the potential of Lampard staying in place). It gives us negotiating power over the German and the Spaniard (and possibly the Frenchman..) and it gives Frank the opportunity to set the record straight. Chelsea have a deep, deep, talented squad that are more than capable of getting the better of Madrid and going on the win the UCL; they just need a little something, a little Mourinho-esq something, that can tip the balance. Lampard's got the passion and the motivational skills required to move that needle.

Not convinced winning the treble with a front three of Messi, Neymar and Suarez in their prime qualifies Enrique for the challenge at Chelsea...

It's right for ten Hag to defend his players in public, though not entirely sure Wout Weghorst has been the success the manager would have us believe

Fabz, Frank I think would do a better job as caretaker but for the long term project, I will go for Nagelsman to see the youngsters develop and the long term future of the club sorted

Is there a front runner for the next manager of crystal palace after Roy leaves at the end of the season?

It's not decided yet. Hodgson is in place until the end of the season and a decision will be made later. We'll have to wait and see, but I'll post updates if and when I have them.

Nice and well detailed update. But is Arsenal still in talks with Ivan Fresneda?

Lampard does make sense for the final two months as he has worked well with young dynamic players in the past. Tactically he is not good enough to win against Real Madrid and he will rely on the individual brilliance of the players we have but still his substitutions will be far better than Potter's.

Luis Enrique would be my only choice right now for the permanent role. I don't like managers who prefer a back 3 and that has been the reason Chelsea have been abysmal in front of the goal since Conte moved to a back three in 2016. Sarri was too rigid with his system. Lamps had a better goalscoring record than most of them and Thomas Tuchel was the nadir of cowardice with his defensive mindset. I would never like to see him at Chelsea again.

I want to see high pressing, attacking football at Chelsea and I feel Nagelsmann would hinder that with bringing back the back 3 system.

Lampard leading Chelsea at the Santiago Bernabeu does not bode particularly well, but then again you never know. Nothing to lose and he might just simplify things for them. I think being underdogs will suit them in Europe, if Lampard plays into that - certainly Real Madrid would rather Chelsea pressed them.
